Southern Gulf Snow Crab Quota Set at 24,613 Tons, Down From 40,000 Tons in 2017

The Canadian Dept. of Fisheries has announced the snow crab quota in the Southern Gulf, which as expected is down about 38% from 2017.
The quota corresponds to an exploitation rate of 38.3%, and includes a lower exploitation rate for zone 12F which was instituted at the request of the industry.
Zone 12 has 90% of the quota volume, and zone 19 has 10%. There is also a quota of 3648 tons in zone 16 ...
