Opening of California Commercial Rock Crab Fishery Extended to Sonoma/Mendocino County Line

After months of problems with domoic acid levels being too high, the California commercial rock crab fishery is now open in most of the state.
Following the recommendation of state health agencies, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced recently it has extended the open area for commercial rock crab fishing from the Sonoma/Mendocino County line (38° 46.1′ N. Lat., near Gualala, Mendocino County) south to the California/Mexico border.
