North Carolina Restaurant Adds Green Gill Oysters to Their Menu

This isn’t something out of a Dr. Seuss book. A restaurant in North Caroline is now selling Green Gill oysters – and yes, they truly are green.
Green Gill oysters are native to eastern North Carolina. According to WRAL, the shellfish, which are known to be salty, get their color and taste from the algae in the water. But unfortunately, the color is what throws most people off.
