Japanese producers set to boost consumption of kazunoko outside New Year season

Kazunoko processors in Japan are now set to make kazunoko (herring roe) an all-year-round product such as ikura and pollock roe.
Consumption of kazunoko, a typically seasonal food product in Japan, dwindles rapidly after the high demand season around New Year.
The nation's kazunoko processors' organizations last year designated May 5--a national holiday dedicated to children--as the "Day of Kazunoko" by highlighting the traditional belief in kazunoko as a symbol of prospering posterity...
