Oceana Says 50% of World's Transshipping Activity Occurs in Russian Waters

Oceana released a report that exposed the global scale of transshipping at sea. The report was especially critical of transshipping activity in Russian waters in the Sea of Okhotsk in the Barents Sea.
The report was released at The Economist’s World Ocean Summit in Bali, Indonesia and used datasets released by Global Fishing Watch and Oceana’s partner SkyTruth to identify likely transshipping hotspots as well as the top countries whose vessels were involved in suspected rendezvous at sea and the ports they most frequently visited...
