Russia Blasts Norway in Fishing Row

RUSSIA has threatened to freeze all political contacts with Norway in a move that could have major ramifications for fishing in the region.
The two countries share the Barents Sea, the largest source for cod, haddock, mackerel and herring in the northern hemisphere. The cod quota alone is more than 800,000 tonnes.
In a statement issued at the weekend, the Russian Embassy in Oslo described relations between Russia and Norway as ‘unsatisfactory’.
