Norwegian Seafood Exports On Pace to Set Record High Values in 2016 from Strong Salmon, Cod Prices

Norway’s seafood export volumes are trending down in 2016, but higher salmon and cod values are expected to offset these declines with year-end earnings projections now at record levels.
In November, Norway exported 219,000 metric tons of seafood valued at NOK 9 billion (US$1 billion). This is a decrease by volume of 16 percent. However, by value figures are up 22 percent compared to November 2015.
So far this year Norway has exported 2.3 million metric tons of seafood. This is a decrease of 7 percent from the same period in 2015.
