Norway Reverses Position on Sterile Salmon; Allows Nor Seafoods to Stock 1 Million Fish

Norway's Industry and Fisheries Ministry reversed its position that prevents companies from stock triploid, or sterile, salmon and will now allow Norway Royal Salmon's subsidiary Nor Seafoods to release 1 million of the fish to its farm site in Tromso.
Authorities determined that the triploid salmon do not pose a threat to Norway's environment when monitored correctly. Officials determined that Nor Seafoods has proper safeguards in place to monitor its salmon pens to prevent escapements...
