Aqua Star Refutes DSS Claim, Says Label was Used by All Shrimp Packers for Albertson's

Aqua Star has replied in court to the allegations made by Direct Source Seafood that Aqua Star infringed on its brand 'Chef's Net"
First, the brand was a private label brand for Albertson's. Both companies were suppliers to Albertson's.
"The control brand was called “Chef’s Net” and featured products supplied by numerous national seafood firms, assigned by Albertsons on the basis of geographic region. DDS supplied some regions, Aqua Star supplied some regions, and other firms supplied other regions. Under this course of dealing, Aqua Star (and a handful of other similarly situated companies) have, for years, marketed and sold frozen seafood products using the Chef’s Net brand in good faith...
