Salmon, cod consumption on the rise in Poland

Poland’s fish and seafood sales totalled 493,100 tonnes in 2015 which represented a decrease of 4.9% compared with the 518,500 tonnes sold a year earlier. However, this was accompanied by a robust increase it the domestic sales of some species, according to data released by the state-run Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics (IERiGZ).
Last year, Poland’s fish consumption was dominated by saltwater and aquaculture fish which translated into 10.54 kg per capita, up 14.2% compared with a year earlier. The country’s seafood consumption reported a robust increase in 2015, up 40% to 0.38 kg per capita, but, nevertheless, remained at a relatively low level....
