Significant snow crab cuts likely in southern Gulf of St. Lawrence
SEAFOOD.COM NEWS By Jack MacAndrew - March 8, 2010 - Charlottetown , PEI, Snow crabbers normally getting ready for a new season fishing the waters of the southern Gulf of St. Lawrence, are bracing for bad news this week.
It will come at a meeting in Moncton, New Brunswick, when the Snow Crab Advisory Committee meets with officials from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans ( DFO ) to decide quotas for the season normally beginning in April or May 1, depending on ice conditions.
