Contessa inks deal with Compass Group to sell shrimp with Monterey Bay 'Good Alternative' listing
Compass Group USA, Foodbuy LLC and Contessa Premium Foods today announce the first implementation by a major food service company of sustainable purchasing standards for shrimp that meet the requirements of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. Although Monterey Bay has not rated these shrimp specically, it has been involved in the process and recognizes that the shrimp Compass will get from Contessa meets all requirements for 'good alternative' farmed shrimp.
