Russia's Far East Salmon Catch up 22 Percent Over Year-Ago

As of July 20, 2015, the total catch of Pacific salmon in Russia's Far East fishery basin increased by 13.6 thousand tones (22%) against the 2013 level to 75,247 tonnes, the Federal Agency for Fishery informed.
East Kamchatka predictably accounts for most of the catch. As of July 20, the total catch in Kamchatka Krai exceeded 65.5 thousand tonnes (12.78 thousand tonnes or 24.2% above the 2013 level).
Almost all of the production was destined for the domestic market. No rail shipment problems have been reported so far.
