Coalition of Gulf Shrimp Industries Still Blames Imports for Low Prices After Loss at ITC

The U.S. Court of International Trade ruled early this month that the trade practices of international shrimp exporters do not constitute unfairness because they have “filled a need” since 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.
However, the Coalition of Gulf Shrimp Industries, an industry advocacy group comprised of seafood producers throughout the Gulf Coast, says the ruling was only based on the period of the spill and immediately thereafter. The detrimental effects continue today, despite a rebound in the quality of local shrimp, the group says.
