Late Start to Norway's Skrei Cod Season Contributes to Decline in Exported Cod Values in January

A decline in Norwegian cod export values in January contributed to a fall in the country's overall value of its fresh and frozen cod shipments during the first month of the year.
According to the Norwegian Seafood Export Council the late start to its skrei season last month contributed to a decline in the value of its fresh cod shipments, which were down 14 percent versus year ago levels. Likewise, frozen cod export values were down 50 percent to NOK 143 million (US$18.9 million).
