Campbell River Council Supports Grieg Seafood BC's Proposed Two New Fish Farms

Campbell River city council is sending a letter of support for Grieg Seafood's plan to open two new fish farm sites in Clio Channel by West Cracroft Island.
Council was responding to a request from Marilyn Hutchinson, Director of Human Resources, Sustainability and Growth for Grieg Seafood BC Ltd., whose head office is located in Campbell River.
The letter saidCampbell River supports the head office presence of BC's three largest salmon farming companies "whose total direct employment is around 890 persons."
Other items pointed out in the letter were: Excluding payroll and feed costs, in 2013 Grieg spent $71 million for service providers and contractors, primarily located in the North Vancouver Island region.
