South Australia Rock Lobster Industry Wants Its Advisory Committee Reestablished

The South Australian rock lobster industry will ask to re-establish an advisory committee almost identical to that scrapped by the State Government.
The Rock Lobster Fishery Management Advisory Committee (RLFMAC) was one of more than 100 government bodies axed by Premier Jay Weatherill. Mr Weatherill said his plan was to talk more directly to groups affected by policy decisions and therefore save on board fees and administration costs.
RLFMAC was formed to provide expertise on the management of fisheries, including harvest strategies and setting the seasonal quota.
Fishers have brought in about 70 per cent of the quota...
