Numerous name and ownership changes, redesigns and government involvement came to a head Monday afternoon when the ribbon was cut on Southwest Louisiana's newest attraction.
Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta, CEO and sole owner of Landry's, Inc., was on hand to officially open the Golden Nugget Lake Charles.
The opening ended a more than nine-year effort to bring a new casino to Lake Charles.
