IMARPE declares no Peruvian December anchovy season, pushing global 2015 fishmeal forecasts even lower

As has been widely expected, Peru's Marine Institute (IMARPE), has declared that there will be no second season for Peruvian anchovy this December.
This will push the shortfall of global fishmeal and oil supplies to more than 10% below 2014 levels.
Last month, Oil world forecast a reduction in global fishmeal production to an "extremely low 4.12 million metric tons", which would represent about a 10% reduction from the current year (september to september).
Now they will likely revise that forecast downward, as they did not factor in a complete closure of Peru for the December-January fishing season....
