Giant Foods recalls Acme Smoked Nova Salmon for possible listeria, no illnesses reported

Giant Food has removed a smoked salmon product from its shelves after a recall for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Giant Food announced Tuesday that Acme Smoked Nova Salmon is being recalled by Acme Smoked Fish Corp. because it could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause listeriosis.
The recalled product is imported (Product of Denmark) Acme Smoked Nova Salmon, 4 oz. vacuum pack, UPC 2338410406 with a lot code of L.05122014. Testing by the Virginia Department of Agriculture found Listeria in one package. There are no rpeorts of illnesses.
