GAA finalizes BAP hatchery standards for finfish, crustaceans and mollusks

The Global Aquaculture Alliance has completed an expanded hatchery standard for its Best Aquaculture Practices certification program that now includes finfish, crustaceans and mollusks.
This program will replace the GAA's existing shrimp hatchery standard and allows more companies to seek out a four-star certification for a much wider variety of hatchery and nursery operations.
“We are very proud to announce the release of the new BAP hatchery standards," said Peter Redmond, BAP vice president of market development. "This now enables our partners to become four-star certified across the aquaculture sector. It’s a massive enhancement to the program while delivering true and meaningful change throughout the seafood supply chain.”
