Norwegian salmon producers are looking to achieve record sales in the US this year, writes Aslak Berge for Ilaks.
With the shutdown of the Russian market, and China's recent moves to restrict imports of whole salmon from Norway, 2014 may see a surge of product back to the US market.
In the late 1980's, the US was Norway's largest customer for fresh salmon. The fish were gutted, packed in ice and flown across the Atlantic. Around 1/3 of Norways production was sold in the US...
