Major fishmeal Association IFFO part of ASC's steering committee to develop feed standard

The Aquaculture Stewardship Council has embarked on its own development of fishmeal standards. However, as per their past inclusive practices, the The International Fishmeal and Fish Oil Organization (IFFO) is among the groups that will develop its fish feed certification scheme.
Dr. Andrew Jackson, Technical Director for IFFO, is one of 13 members of the ASC's steering committee that will work to develop the theme. Dr. Jackson spent 20 years in the salmon farming industry prior to joining IFFO in 2006.
IFFO is the association representing by far the majority of global fishmeal and oil producers, and has worked hard to bring a certification scheme forward. The organization features a network of members across 60 countries, that account for over 50% of world production and 75% of the fishmeal and fish oil traded worldwide.
