Inside La Nueva Viga in Mexico: the world's second largest fish market

It's the second largest fish market in the world, following Tokyo's famous Tsukiji Market.
But unlike Japan's fish market, and others like the Sydney Fish Market, La Nueva Viga is located hundreds of kilometres from the coast.
The market is the largest in Latin America and based in Iztapalapa in Mexico's capital.
Trucks arrive daily from the coast to Mexico City loaded with fresh fish, shellfish, octopus, and shark.
According to Compesca, the Mexican Council of the Promotion of Fishery and Aquaculture Products, the market sells more than 500 marine species.
Eighty-per cent of the product sold is fresh, the majority from the Gulf of Mexico, the remaining 20 per cent is imported frozen seafood sourced from countries including China, the United States, Vietnam and Chile...
