Frozen tuna prices have bottomed out as high priced 2012 inventories clear supply chain

For the first time in 18 months, frozen tuna prices are rising again after high priced tuna imports that were bought in 2012 crushed market demand. The excess inventories have finally worked their way through the supply chain. This has ended a downward market correction and prices have increased this summer; the first such rise seen in this market in about a year and a half.
As of last week, Urner Barry average prices for 5-7 lb frozen tuna loins are up nearly 3 percent compared to the first week of July--the first notable price rise in this market since 2011...
