Captain D's CEO envisions "thousands" of US stores in long-term growth plan

Phil Greifeld, CEO of Nashville-based restaurant chain Captain D’s, doesn’t like the words "turnaround," "transformation" or "righting the ship." At least, not anymore.
When Greifeld came on board in the fall of 2010, the 45-year old seafood chain was struggling. The chain hadn’t posted positive same-store sales growth in eight years, a trend it reversed in 2011 and has kept going — the company posted a system-wide same-store sales increase of 3.2 percent last year.
“D’s”(as Greifeld calls it) plans to open seven to 10 franchise stores in 2015, focusing first on markets in the company’s key states: Texas, Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina...
