Alaska Governor Hosts Halibut Industry in Largest Reception at 'the People's House' since 2014

A record number of fishermen, processors, and other seafood industry members celebrated the work of the International Pacific Halibut Commission at a reception held at the Governor’s Residence last night.
“I want to thank you all for the work you do, the jobs you create, and the industry you’ve built,” remarked Governor Walker, after first welcoming “our friends from Canada” and “our sister states from the West Coast” and Alaskans from every corner of the state. The reception included Lt. Governor Byron Mallott, ADF&G Commissioner Sam Cotten, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation Marc Luiken, Juneau Mayor Mary Becker, and other dignitaries.
