First Salmon Aquaculture Site Launched in Poland, Further Investments Planned

Poland's first salmon aquaculture site has been launched in Janowo, in Poland’s north-western part, by local company Jurrasic Salmon. Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Kazimierz Plocke says that, following the launch of the latest project, further investors are mulling to open new sites in the country.
"We expect that, by 2020, Poland will obtain between 49,000 and 62,000 tonnes of high-quality fish from aquaculture per year," Plocke told local news agency PAP.
Currently, local aquaculture sites are responsible for providing between 30,000 and 36,000 tonnes of fish to the Polish market, which translates into up to 18% of the country’s annual demand. The planned investments would enable local fish processors to buy salmon from local entities....
