New Study Once Again Stirs Debate About Whether Coronavirus Can Live on Frozen Meat and Seafood
Can coronavirus live on frozen meat and fish? It’s a topic that has been hotly contested since COVID-19 first made waves in early 2020. Despite China taking strict restrictions related to COVID-19 transmission on imported food, and the World Health Organization claiming in an early 2021 report that the coronavirus may have originated in frozen meat, the USDA and FDA has maintained that there is “no evidence that people can contract COVID-19 from food or from food packaging.” But with that said a new study published in the American Society for Microbiology Journals last month claims otherwise.
