Florida Stone Crab Season to Wrap Up on May 2
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced its recreational and commercial stone crab season will end in state and federal waters on May 2.
The final day of harvest will be May 1. The Commission noted that the closure date was adjusted last year as part of a suite of changes that were made in response to a long-term decline in harvest and because the stone crab fishery is likely undergoing overfishing.
