JAPAN: February Air Cargo Import Value Kept Decreasing, Live Eels and Salmon Fillets Up
According to the February import customs statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the marine products brought in by air freight have been showing negative growth for a long time under the COVID pandemic.
The air transported imports of marine products and prepared seafood in February were 4,452 tons and 6,577.7 million yen ($60.85 million), a decrease of 2.4% in quantity and a significant decline of 14.6% in value the same month a year ago, analyzed Suisan Keizai.
