Cooke Aquaculture Pacific Provides Update on Permits Needed to Raise Trout in Washington
As Cooke Aquaculture attempts to shift the type of fish it raises in four Puget Sound aquaculture pens from Atlantic salmon to native steelhead trout.
Last week, the Washington Department of Ecology (ECY) released draft revised water quality permits at four facilities which will allow Cooke to raise steelhead. The facilities included Hope Island in Skagit Bay and three in Rich Passage in Kitsap County.
