UK Fisheries Administration Suspends King Scallop Fishing in North Sea
The UK Fisheries Administrations announced this week that king scallop fishing in the North Sea, around Dogger Bank, will be suspended until October 11, 2020.
Fishing in the area has actually been suspended since July 12 to enable scientific analysis of the state of the shellfish stock. The analysis revealed that scallops in the closed areas are either currently spawning, or about to spawn.
