Early results of a pop-up satellite tagging project last summer suggest Pacific cod aren’t likely overwintering under the ice of the northern Bering Sea.
The Alaska Science Center (NOAA Fisheries) partnered with the Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, and fishermen from Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island for research on Pacific cod movements.
