Over 60 grids in the Gulf of St. Lawrence are now closed for the season due to North Atlantic right whale sightings.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) introduced season-long grid closures this year as part of their efforts to protect the endangered North Atlantic right whale from entanglement or ship strikes.
