8 Indonesian Tuna Fisheries Entering MSC Certification Process
The International Pole & Line Foundation (IPNLF) has confirmed that eight Indonesian pole-and-line and handline tuna fisheries will be entering the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification process.
IPNLF has been working alongside their local partner, Asosiasi Perikanan Pole & Line dan Handline Indonesia (AP2HI). Together the two groups have aided the Indonesian tuna fisheries in improving data collection and monitoring. This plays into the MSC Fisheries Standard's three core principles: sustainable fish stocks, minimizing environmental impact, and effective fisheries management.
