Toothfish Stocks in Danger as Spanish Vessels Fish in Under-Regulated Areas
Stocks of Patagonian toothfish in the Southern Indian Ocean Fishing Agreement (SIOFA) are in trouble as Spanish vessels continue to fish in under-regulated areas despite scientific evidence of risks.
These areas have no catch limits, bycatch limits or any other measures to help maintain populations.
