China's Seafood Smuggling Crackdown Successes Ushers Shrimp Industry into New Era
According to the Hebei government on Dec. 25, 2018, local customs cracked down on a smuggling case of frozen seafood in late October of 2018. Two gangs were broken up and 11 suspects have been held in custody so far. This case involves 15,500 tons of frozen seafood and tax evasion of 111 million yuan (~$16.51 million USD).
