Russia Seeks to Diversify and Increase Efforts with Coldwater Shrimp
Russian leading fish producers are considering diversifying their activities into areas that have been previously uncommon for them -- such as coldwater shrimp -- according to recent statements of producers and some market analysts in the field of fish business.
Producers say due forthcoming reforms in the Russian fish industry and the introduction of auctions that will replace the existing historical scheme of quota distribution, forces them to pay more attention to new directions for business, even though they could be less profitable than pollock and crab production but more reliable.
