Speaking at Shrimp Festival in Port Isabel, Andrea Hance Says Texas Industry Has Shrunk 70%

Port Isabel has had an annual shrimp festival in the fall for 25 years. Its shrimp cook-off is a way to celebrate the shrimping industry and highlight how important shrimp is to the south Texas economy.
But things are not looing good. Andrea Hance the long time president of the Texas Shrimp Association, told visitors to the festival that the Texas shrimp industry has shrunk by about 70% over the past 30 years.
