Fishermen plan to Blockade Paper Mill Attempt to Survey Northumberland Strait Pipeline Route

A group of fishermen from several ports along the Northumberland Strait announced plans to blockade a pulp mill survey boat this week.
The fishermen are opposed to a pipeline that Northern Pulp wants to build in the Northumberland strait, between PEI and New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. They want to block operation of a survey boat that was hired to carry out a survey for Northern Pulp’s proposed new route for an effluent pipe and was turned back by fishermen last week.
