Competition Among Hunchun Businessmen Results in Low King Crab Prices in China

Due to a shortage, one Beijing seafood seller secretly bought a batch of Russian king crab at 220 yuan/jin (1 jin=0.5 kg; $31.93/jin USD) in early September. But to his disappointment, king crab prices dove to 180 yuan per jin ($26.12/jin USD) in the blink of an eye with Hunchun businessmen selling dozens of tons to the market. Prices have continued to contract, because those businessmen are fighting fiercely to increase their market shares in China.
