NOAA Fisheries announced that they are now seeking public comment on a proposed rule to establish a first-ever traceability program for U.S. farmed shrimp and abalone.
Currently the rule, which would serve as a domestic counterpart to shrimp and abalone import requirements under the Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP), is only proposed.
