Shrimp Landings Down for Month of July in Louisiana

Gulf of Mexico Shrimp landings are down slightly in July, with NMFS reporting a total of 7.92 million lbs headless shrimp, vs 8.01 million lbs in July 2017.
The cumulative total is slightly down, but Louisiana, which had the lowest landings for the month of July for the past five years, is still ahead for the year overall. July is typically one of the lowest volume summer months in the Louisiana shrimp fishery.
