Cross-Border Effort to Help Gravely Ill Orca Continues

A team of biologists, veterinarians, marine ecologists, and killer whale experts from Canada and the U.S. have developed a plan to treat and test feed a gravely ill orca named J50. The three-and-a-half-year-old member of the J-pod of the Southern Resident Killer Whales is emaciated and may have an infection. She is also known as Scarlett.
