Icelandic Whaler Accused of Killing Protected Blue Whale

Icelandic commercial whaler Kristján Loftsson is being accused of killing a protected blue whale.
Sea Shepherd, an international, non-profit marine conservation organization, says that their volunteers at the Hvalur whaling station in Hvalfjordur Iceland have “documented the slaughter of an endangered blue whale on July 7th.” However, Loftsson claims that the whale his crew killed was wither a fin whale or a hybrid species.
