Russian small scale crab producers have once again called on the Russian government to lift the existing ban on the catch within the coastal 12-mile zone. They hope to increase the revenue of their business and to bring additional crab volumes to the domestic market, according to representatives of fisherman
According to the inshore fishermen, in recent years commercial stocks of some crab species in the Russian territorial waters have significantly grown. They hope to convince the Russian government to lift the existing ban on the coastal zone catch, which was imposed as far back as in 2011.
