U.S., Canada Begin Columbia River Treaty Negotiations

United States and Canadian representatives will meet May 29-30 in Washington, D.C., to start negotiations to modernize the Columbia River Treaty regime.
The 1964 Treaty’s flood risk and hydropower operations have provided substantial benefits to millions of people on both sides of the border, according to a press release from the State Department.
