The agreement between Canada and the United States on how to manage transboundary stocks of Pacific salmon will expire at the end of this year. Negotiations on key chapters in the Pacific Salmon Treaty have been ongoing for over a year, while chinook stocks are in decline and ecosystem changes are happening at an accelerated pace in both countries.
