Russia's Barents Sea Snow Crab Quota May Double in 2019

There's some good news on the horizon for Russian crabbers. Russian Federal Agency of Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo) Head Ilya Shestakov said recently that Russia's quota for catching snow crab in the Barents Sea may double next year.
The total allowable catch of snow crab for Russian fishermen in the Barents sea this year is set at the level of 9,800 tonnes. However, it is planned that starting from 2019 it will grow to 20,000 tonnes.
